Reviewers Anonymous

Well, if I really wanted to be StoryPope and fix things to make this more of a reviewing/writing site, my biggest step would be to get rid of handles, merit badges, cNotes, and the dozens of things that make this into more of a community social club than a writing site. If the focus were far more on the written items (awardicons might stay for example, as they are focused on items, not people), there would be far fewer people attracted to those elements. StoryMaster might not like it, as it would cut drastically into the number of members, but you would be almost certain to get more focus on writing. There are many people here on WDC who do almost no writing, and very little reading, but instead spend time on activities and mutual admiration societies. Since I am not StoryPope and can't change that, I make do with finding smaller groups who care about reviews, and contests where I can get some feedback other than "Ohh, that's special!"
