Just to be clear, I don't think "the system is fine", but I also don't know of any way to change it. I make the vast majority of my reviews public, and I do a fair number of in-depth reviews, but I also don't give a hoot about anybody rewarding me. Reviewing is its own reward, as I find I discover a lot about my own writing by reading/reviewing others. I make most reviews public so that others will be encouraged to make theirs public, and thus at least slightly accountable.

I, for one, greatly value and appreciate constructive, in-depth reviews.
