I see Jo has popped in here, so I thought I would repost my little piece from The Pub in case she visits again:

I knew Ernie through the writing.com website for a number of years. He was always ready with words of encouragement, a joke to share or a funny story to read. He was one of the few people I would class as an online friend. I never had the pleasure of meeting or speaking to him in "real life", but through his words on here, I could tell he was a great guy with a wonderful sense of humour and a love of life.

I'd like to think Ernie was proud of the little gang of missfits he put together in The Pub. He gave us somewhere to come on the site to improve and share. It was never too serious, but it was focused.

The place just won't be the same without Ernie.
