Fans of horror and engaging writing

I was constantly in awe of King's writing style. His characterizations are brilliant. He always finds a new way to describe things. This book is very creepy, but also very sad. I loved Carrie as a character, and became increasingly sad about the destruction that was foreshadowed throughout the book. The ending scenes carried heavy emotional weight.

The plot-interrupting interviews in the second half of the book. I skipped or skimmed as much as I could.

Sad

This was my first Stephen King novel, and I'm hooked!
