Review of I Am Not a Hero
Review by Corey Walker
Rated: ASR | (4.5)
Wow, what an emotional read, and for a fantasy story at that. I've read several fantasy stories before and none of them made me think like this one did; mostly about the character. I truly felt for the "hero" of the story, even though he was, in a way, a coward. I would probably understand this considering that your villian, Kaltor, is very threatening--being able to obliterate people with the point of a finger! While the entire story is well-written, the paragraph that was most gripping was the second to last. It had deep, emotional thoughts from the protagonist and how he felt for letting his men and comrades die, and the fact of what would've happened if he told the truth; very powerful. I can't really tell you anything to improve upon. Again, for a fantasy story, this is one of the top ones I've read. Some of the main highlights are the inner demons that the protagonist faces long after the battle with Kaltor. This is his way of confessing what really happened, maybe on his deathbed as he's letting it all out. An amazing short fantasy story. Wouldn't mind a sequel! Keep it up!
