It doesn't just rain in the tropics ~ it POURS!
NOAH'S ARC.

With the summer now upon us in the land we call Downunder
The rains arrive to quench this dry land's thirst.
Not just a tropic storm boasting flashing light and thunder,
But rains that swell the rivers till they burst.

For forty days and forty nights rain clouds have been in motion:
(Reminds me of a time way back in history).
When roads look more like rivers and rivers turn to ocean,
The ways of weather always were a mystery.

It's a frantic time for all, moving things to higher ground;
Placing buckets underneath the leaking ceiling.
None but the brave will venture out and dare to wander 'round
Some sights out there would send your senses reeling!

The rivers which have burst their banks have carried with the tide
the creatures who once called the creeks their home.
There are crocodiles and fish swimming down the road outside,
They've found a whole new territory to roam.

Our wide brown land will be reborn and crops will once more flourish.
The cattle will have grass on which to graze.
We need "The Wet" each year, to grow the food to nourish
the people (and the crocs) for future days.

The weatherman has said that we'll soon see clear blue skies
and a panoramic view 'cross Heaven's park.
The colours of the rainbow will delight our weary eyes:
A blessing I have dubbed my "Noah's Arc".
