This is a poem about a girl who is watching the destruction of her world.
Fire spinning through her eyes,
Her heart as lifeless as coal.
She watches as her world dies,
The flame burning her soul.

The pain flows deep into her mind,
Through every vein and nerve.
She tries in agony to find,
A life she can preserve.

But crumbling are the walls,
And roaring are the fiery waves.
She runs and runs and falls and falls,
Until her heart proceeds to cave.

Beating into pieces,
Her heart cracks in her chest.
And once the rupture ceases,
She feels her very best.

She looks upon the dying land,
With triumph in her eyes.
She lifts up her clenched hand,
And yells into the sky.

Instead of seeing loss and grief,
She sees an opportunity.
She thinks of turning over a new leaf,
To start an age of unity.

The world now belongs to her,
There is not a soul to protest.
She climbs to the flame's center,
And at the precipice comes to rest.

She claims this planet as her own,
All the Earth is her domain.
As if she could be overthrown,
When no life to remains.

So she sat upon her burning throne,
And looked out at the dawn.
But her Earth began to quake and groan,
And in a flash she too was gone.
