Mosquito,
draw summer out of my skin
so I forget the stripes of heat
drawn across my forehead--
ease the stabs of sunshine
my eyes must dodge.

Suck out the shrieks
of heedless children
filling the streets
and the highways filled
with beachgoers

And don't get me started
on the beach.
