I know where I'm going because I know where I have been and where I ultimately belong.

Trees
Skeletons
In the breeze
Light unseen
Blackness bleeds
Nothing is free
Roaming around unchained
Infecting all that could be
With all that has been
Down the darkest road
No one goes
No one but me
I understand the path
And have lived the journey
Each perilous step counted
Every hill traversed
All sunken depths mastered
The distance shorter
With each perilous undertaking
What’s down there
Is the suffocating reality
Of my entire life
Sometimes I stop
Taking no further steps
Sometimes for days
That feel like lifetimes
I stand completely still
Unsure if I should turn back
Certain that I must go forward
In such a surreal state
I find limited peace
But just as I was meant
I take the steps and persist
Down there
Is where I must go
Where I justly belong
My truth and my home
I might return
Come back to beginning
But as always I make my way
Back to the ending
Where all that I am intersects
Coming together
As one certain abruptness
My home, my skin, and bones
Down the darkest road…
