A poem that describes a feeling of hopelessness
Anguish has painted black scars on my face
I’ve lost the strength to continue the race
Dews of heaven, I’ve been waiting for you to fall
Blue skies above, please give ears to my call

Agony has built a bridge in my heart
Misery’s sharp claws have torn me apart
Happiness has fled from me without a trace
Anguish has painted black scars on my face

The path I tread is dark, I’ve lost my sight
Morning, I pray, come engulf this hideous night
I’m captured by grief’s obstinate embrace
I’ve lost the strength to continue the race

I have been floored by a violent gust
My face is buried in ashes and dust
Will I ever smash down this monstrous wall?
Dews of heaven, I’ve been waiting for you to fall

My soul is inflicted with thorns of torment
Sharp poisoned thorns, reluctant to relent
Though I try to run, my feeble feet crawl
Blue skies above, please give ears to my call
