I wrote this poem about quite a sad experience. I hope people will be encouraged by it.
Icy waters of the lake,
Swirling, mesmorising,
Calling you nearer to drown your sorrows.
Vision blurred by grief,
Lean closer to the edge,
No longer in control.
Darkness spurs you on,
Jump, just jump, then all your pain will end.
Close your eyes, begin to let go.
Suddenly someone calls,
Dragging you back to reality.
Shaking, step back to safety,
Blinking wildly, stunned and shocked.
Their call came just in time,
A reminder how much you'd be missed,
By those you'd leave behind.
