GRIEF OF A DAUGHER
I am a daugher
Parents told me this is not your house
You, will one day get married
& then the house you enter into will be your own.
The House where I was born
where I spent my childhood
this house which saw me grow young
saw my childhood turn into teenage
But this is not my own:
The brother growing with me
Is the real member of this House?
He who is like me
who is born from the same parents as me
How is he different?
He is a male-this difference has still not made things clear for me
He who is young now
he who is no longer in need of his parents now
he shouts at them, turns his way on seeing them on the same path
he who disrespects them at every stage,
he along-with his life partner thinks parents to be a burden on him
he who never wishes to accompany them
he who keeps on abusing them on occassions
Is he the real heir to the parents?
Is this the inner voice of his parents, or is it the collective voice of the society?
Does the social laws stop the parents to lead a peaceful life ?
I the daughter
wish to see happiness in the eyes of my parents,
wish to accompany them in my spare time,
wish I could serve a warm plate of food filled with love to them,
wish I could help them in their time of need,
always be the first one to listen to their woes-
BUT
Society says daughters are not eligible for such kindness-
they are bound to serve their in-laws relations
they are dis-respectful if they are dedicated to their parents
but why?
Why is the son important?
Why does the pain of daughter go in vain?
why does her love for parents over looked or mis-understood?
May be the right answer to all above is that
Daughters are females
females have to be submissive.
In this male dominant society, daughters are losers.
Their love is being linked to greed.
They simply cannot express their feelings
because
parents say-This house is not yours
In laws say-You are an outsider & cannot understand the laws of our house.
WHO IS THE DAUGHTER AFTER ALL?
NEITHER HERE NOR THERE
BUT SHE IS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE HEART OF WHOM TRUE LOVE RESIDES
ON WHOM PARENTS CAN RELY
FINGERS OF WHOM WIPE AWAY THE TEARS OF GLOOM
DAUGHTERS ARE THE FLOWERS OF FAMILY
WITH WHOM THE FLOWERS OF RELATIONS GROOM.
SHE LEAVES ONE HOUSE TO JOIN ANOTHER
TRUELY SHE BRIGHTENS UP TWO HOUSES TO MAKE THEM HOMES.

DAUGHTERS ARE THE CUTEST DOLLS CREATED BY GOD TO ENRICHEN HUMAN RELATIONS.
