The world is falling apart, and all we do is look away.

Look Away

By: Tracey Criswell Wilson

I never thought I'd see the day
Of hungry children begging this way

People not looking, just passing them by,
With not a glance or wondering why.

Too wrapped up in themselves,
To realize how deeply their ignorance cuts.

They watch the homeless on the street,
Scared to be touched; In haste, they move their feet.

No bed do they have, to rest for the night,
So they search for cardboard to be out of sight.

Children killing children is a nightmare enough,
Yet mothers kill their young when things get too tough...

Babes drowned in tubs or plunged into the bay.
No, I never thought I'd see the day.
