I read this poem to my daughter on her wedding day.
Given her Mother's middle, and of course, Father's last name.
The longest hours in labor, we were worn out when she came.
The Good Lord has truly blessed us with our first sweet female.
Big, loud, and angry, we gave her the name of Abigail.

A happy kid, enjoying nature and Disney movies.
Growing into a young lady performing her duties.
Then you started dating, bringing home those odd awkward males.
Certainly glad when you told them to hit the cattle trail!

Then this Airman met you, making you feel a special way.
We knew he won your heart when you touched a trout and stingray.
I hope you feel as though this day is your Holy Grail.
We'll babysit someday but won't empty the diaper pail!

We celebrate on this date, but without Ihop pancakes.
We hope your faith and love will get you through future heartaches.
We're so happy he's the one looking through your wedding veil.
We'll always love you very much, Corey and Abigail.

P.s. Abigail is Hebrew for, "Father's Joy."
