The mindless ramblings of a lover in the snow.
A soft, grey wisp of moisture,
dense and heavy with the essence of life,
releases gently into the whisper of the wind a precious piece of itself:
a micro world of minerals and atoms that quickly take shape,
crystallizing in the atmosphere,
solidifying into unique patterns of chaotic beauty,
small and dense it forces it downward,
spinning wildly across miles of space,
a blur of grays and whites,
one moment falling softly down,
the next spinning upward in a cold blast of air,
cutting gracefully through the breeze and falling effortlessly onto the rose colored skin of my dear love’s chilled nose.

She sniffles as it lingers,
resisting the warmth that will soon be it’s end,
the crystallized atoms losing their shape,
melting slowly,
soaking up the salty oils of her skin.

I smile warmly and kiss the melted flake from her nose.

The moisture pools on the edge of my lip before she leans in to kiss me back and like the fragile snowflake fallen from above I lose myself in heaven’s breath,
melting away with her every touch.
