My thoughts on different parts of the Bible, I shoot straight by the Good Book.
This is a collection of my thoughts on various parts of the Bible. I stick to what the Bible says, but my thoughts are just that, my thoughts. You may not agree, you may be offended. I'm here if you want to talk.

People are troubled everywhere,
Others just don't seem to care,
Jesus wants us all to have His love.
Problems here cause so much pain,
Still no-one will take the blame,
Jesus' love comes only from above.

Jesus' love will lead us on,
Jesus' love will take us home,
All we have to do is live His way.

Troubles come our way each day,
Trials fall across the way,
Jesus' love can help us when we pray.
Satan's snares will never stay
If we'll only kneel and pray,
Jesus Christ hears us when we pray.

I wrote this song poem while I was still in high school. Believe it or not, that's been 31 years now. Everyone in my family was arguing at the time, and God just sort of opened me up and poured it in. Next thing I knew, it was down on paper guitar chords and all.
The funny thing is, it sounds like it may have been written today when you look at what is going on in this world. No matter how you look at it, and no matter when it was written, the message is true. There is only one solution to everything that is going on in our world today. That solution is God.
We in America must get back to being the nation that we were in the beginning, the nation built on Biblical principals. Whether you've noticed it or not, the farther away from God our country grows, the worse things get for us. No-one wants to admit that they need God in their lives, or to even acknowledge that there is a God, but the fact remains that He IS STILL GOD!
The thing we really don't want to admit is the "SIN" factor. That's why no-one wants to see the Ten Commandments displayed at the local courthouse anymore, and the reason no-one wants to consider the Ten Commandments as valid anymore. The thing about the Ten Commandments is this, they are just as valid today as they were when God wrote them on the stone tablets. One big thing about them that you've probably already heard is this, the Ten Commandments are not multiple choice. You can't pick and choose which commandments you want to abide by, they are indeed set in stone.

Towering mountains rise above
the dawn of sunsets eve,
Mother Nature takes her brush
and paints the sky we see.
Hints of purple, orange and red
wisp across the sky,
Twilight now is closing in,
night is drawing nigh.

Then as darkness blankets o'er
the pastel painted sea,
Stars echo heav'nly light
rich, and full, and free.
Brightly shining, they may appear
you'd catch one if you try,
Glimmering ever so far away,
yet seeming oh so nigh.

As the sun begins to rise
the dawn breaks darkness hold,
And mountains stand against the light,
looming strong and bold.
Clouds of soft and wispy white
dance around their peaks,
Wafting through the conifers
that grow on mountains steep.

So precious are these gifts to us
that we must stop and say,
Thank you to the most high God,
Who is with us everyday.

Robert G. Dyson

God has indeed given us a beautiful world to enjoy. Man has messed it up entirely, but that is man's fault, and not Gods. I will use only a few Bible verses for this blog. First, and foremost is:

Genesis 1:1
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."

How can anyone look around and deny that there is a God, and that He is a wonderful, loving God? Why, nature itself points out that very fact. I'm not ignorant by any means. I know there is the "Big Bang Theory," and there is the "Theory of Evolution," and there is the "Survival of the Fittest," but none of them explain every species of animal, flower, or tree that was created by an all powerful God.
You say there was no creation, God doesn't exist, man can do everything that has been accredited to God. But you would be so wrong if this is what you believe. Man has tried to create life for a long time now, but try as they may, they will never create life. Can they create a tree, a flower, an insect? The answer is no! They can indeed make a copy of an animal, or a plant, or a human being through cloning, but this is not creating.
What has happened recently is this; science has taken a step toward the Bible in their findings. They have finally come to realize that everything that was created, was created from nothing. That means that if they are to duplicate what God has done in creation, they must start with absolutely nothing, and from nothing, make a bee, a flower, a tree, a deer, or a man or woman. How could the "Big Bang" cause such to happen? The answer is simply this, It could not!
There is no possible explanation for everything that exists, other than the fact that it was created by God. The Bible even says that all of God's works will praise Him. Psalm 145:10 If the earth were to be moved from it's axis, we would either burn up instantly, or be plunged into an instant deep freeze, and yet the earth sits on it's axis without fail. Yes, it has come close to being removed from it's axis, the major tsunami that headlined our news recently jarred the earth. What kept the earth from moving from it's axis at that time? It was the hand of an all powerful, loving creator who wants to see all of His creation redeemed.
The earth has slowly been destroyed by mankind. Pollution, overuse, overpopulation, misuse, and most of all, "SIN" are the culprits. Sin you say? Yes! Adam and Eve sinned while in the Garden of Eden, which immediately started the earth on a downward spiral. Prior to their sin, the earth was a beautiful, perfect creation. Not even a single thorn disgraced our planet until that very moment. Man in all of his glorious supremacy, messed it up back then, and continue to mess it up now. Not only is man polluting the earth, but now we have escalated the war on our world, literally! We are now trying to destroy our world through the use of weapons of mass destruction. God made us a promise though. That promise is that the world will never end. Try as we may to destroy the earth, it will one day soon become the earth that God intended it to be, perfect, beautiful, and whole. Our earth will never be totally destroyed by mankind, but the only people who will see it as it was meant to be, are those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
People who profess to be Christians, but do not live the life that God has called them to live; will not be there. People who do not believe in God, will not be there. Unless a person has asked for forgiveness for their sins, and is living the Christian life as outlined in the Bible, they will have a home separated from God, a place where there is weeping, and wailing, and gnashing of teeth according to the scriptures. Why can't people accept the fact that there is a God, and that He is waiting for them to come to Him in repentance so that they can be His children once again? All of creation points to the fact. We must simply believe.

I want to talk for a few minutes about something that God impressed upon my heart in a big, BIG way. I was studying for a lesson that I was going to be teaching to a group of 1st and 2nd graders, that's right, the AWANA group I've mentioned previously, when God convicted me of slacking in prayer. Just what do I mean by slacking? I mean not getting down to business with God the way all Christians should.
Before I go further, allow me to clarify what I have just said. Don't get me wrong, I PRAY! Anyone can ask my wife and they will get a truthful answer. "He walks around talking to God all the time." I can honestly say that I do too. I honestly believe that if I couldn't talk to God, I would go absolutely crazy. You might be saying I'm already there, and that's alright, but God is my closest friend, and my confidant. As I was studying for this lesson though, God showed me I was only scratching the surface when it comes to prayer.
God tells us in His word:
1 Thessalonians 5:17
"Pray without ceasing."
No, we can't stay on our knees 24/7 and do nothing but pray, but we can keep a prayer in our hearts, and we can use sentence prayers, or breath prayers as they are sometimes called. When you take a breath, say a quick one sentence prayer, just make sure you mean your prayer, and it's not something that you are doing out of habit. God doesn't just want our time, He wants every moment of it to be heartfelt, and real. Jesus should be our example when it comes to prayer, He was in prayer much of the time. Look at the time He spent in Gethsemane, and His 40 days of fasting. Jesus knew that prayer touches the heart of God.
As I said, God got my attention in a big way. I spent the whole night wide awake. I could not close my eyes to sleep because of the guilt I felt for having ignored my time with God. To be honest, I was actually unaware of just how important our prayer time is to God. I knew God wanted us to spend time with Him, and I have. I go to church on Sunday morning and Sunday night, I teach the AWANA class on Wednesday night, and I spend much time studying my Bible so I have it covered right? WRONG!
You see, we don't even get it right in our churches anymore. Another passage of scripture tells us how powerful prayer is, but this passage seems to be ignored by almost every person who calls him/herself a Christian these days, and by almost every church.
James 5:14-16
"Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, annointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
Healing, and forgiveness of sins can be found in the prayer of faith. That prayer of faith simply means this, "pray, believing that God will do what He has said He will do, standing on the word of God, knowing that our healing has been bought with the stripes that Jesus bore as He was being whipped with the Roman scourge, and knowing that God is not a man that He should lie, therefore His word is TRUTH."
But I haven't seen one person in our church ask for this type of prayer in the last year, I'm guilty also. I would venture to say that if someone did ask for prayer in this manner, that a bottle of oil could not be found at the pulpit. Do the churches today not believe God's word means what it says? The church must get back to being the church that God ordained, or believers will never be the believers God means for them to be, it's as simple as that.
Last but not least, these passages from Revelation really opened my eyes:
Revelation 5:8
"And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of the saints."
Revelation 8:3-5
"And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which is before the throne.
And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angels hand.
And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake."
As Christians, we know that God hears our prayers. We know that He always answers them in one way or another, that is: yes, no, or maybe, but how many of us have read this passage of scripture and never really understood the full implications of it? Our prayers aren't just heard, answered, and discarded, they are stored in golden vials for the time of the end. Our prayers are so precious to God that He has the angels storing them, not just in any container, but in golden censers. Wow, how precious our prayers are to God? Those very prayers will bring judgement to the earth during the tribulation period. Wow, how powerful our prayers are in the hands of God!
I can't remember the last time I saw more than a handful of people in the altar at the church either. It use to be that when the altar was opened at the end of service, everyone in the church would get on their knees before God. Why, I can remember a time when the altars were open all through the church service, if you needed to pray, you went to pray. It almost seems as if we as Christians are too good to humble ourselves before Almighty God and spend time with Him the way He has set forth that we should, through prayer.
Talking to God, and listening to God, that's what prayer is. But then we've also gotten too busy to wait on the Lord it seems.
Have you neglected prayer the way I did? You may want to take a fresh look at your prayer life, it's not drudgery, it is touching the heart of God.

I'm sitting here at the computer once again at 3:30 in the morning because I can't sleep, and I've got something on my mind. In my last Blog I spoke about prayer, and how we don't seem to take God serious anymore. God has given the Christian a guide for how he/she is to live, and He's given the church guidelines for how it should conduct itself as well. The problem is; neither the Christian, nor the church are acting according to the scriptures. I'll explain.
Christians are called to live the Christian life 24/7. That means up town, or out in the country, it means in the church, or in the mall, it means at school, or at home, it means when you have to walk away from a dirty joke, or when you have to go to the aid of someone, it means "living." What do you do when you live life? You live it 24/7 because to take a break from living life would mean death. There's a thought for us to ponder. When we take a break from living the Christian life, does that mean we participate in a sort of "Christian Life Cessation?"
The church doesn't seem to be doing any better though. God has laid out guidelines for how the church is to conduct itself, and man has come behind Him and said, that's just not right for the church I want to attend, so let me take that doctrine out of the way, or that doctrine is a little too harsh so I'll just soften it up around the edges to make it right for us also.
Today's churches are busy doing things, there is no doubt whatsoever about that fact. What they are busy doing though are the things that they desire to do. A program here, a program there, let's set up a program for everyone in the church and there won't be anything left to worry about. But that's just not the case. We should worry about the saints, and about making sure there is plenty for each age group in the church to participate in, but God has called the church to do so much more.
Father God has called the church, not to stay within the boundaries of it's four walls, but to go. Go where? Go into all the world and preach the gospel. God has called the church to go into the highways, the good places around where you live, and the by-ways, the not so good places in the area in which you live, and to be witnesses to the people who are there.
Many Christians believe that all we have to do is live the Christian life in front of those around us, and that is how we witness to people, but I beg to differ and here is my reason. The verses that tells me otherwise are found in Romans 10:13-14
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?"
I can almost hear you saying it now, "But we live in America, everyone knows about God." I would venture to say that your assumption would be about 25% correct. People know that there is a God, but for many people, that's where it ends. Even here in America, people do not know about God, heard of Him yes, but really know about Him, that's another story. There are people sitting in churches today that don't "really know about God. What I mean to say is that they do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and they don't know what God is truly all about. If there are people sitting in church pews every Sunday morning who don't really know all about God, why is it so hard to believe that there are people in America who have never heard about God, or His Son Jesus? There really are those in America who haven't heard about Jesus and His sacrifice for us, and how can they believe unless they have heard?
They can't! That's why we have to begin to open our mouths as God's messengers, and tell those we meet about His love, grace, mercy, righteousness, and yes, about His judgment. We must never forget, God has called us all to be His preachers, He only calls some to be pastors and evangelists, but He calls all of us to be orators for His cause. That fancy word orator simply means a speaker, and while our actions do speak volumes, they do not speak loud enough to reach people who are headed straight for hell.
Which parts of the Bible has your church neglected, or seemingly just forgotten about? Does it lightly skim over those troubling spots in the Bible so that it's doctrine remains biblical, or does it use all scripture for doctrine, and reproof, and.....?
Whose church is it anyway?

I heard about a loving God who sent his Son to be,
a perfect living sacrifice for everyone you see.
He has a great big family whose lives are meant to shine
full of grace, love, and truth, God's attributes divine.
While his Son was here on earth He walked the dusty roads,
to share His father's words of life and bear sin's heavy load.
He did not come to sit in church away from jeering crowds,
but to walk among the sin sick throngs and share God's word out loud.
He turned the water into wine a miracle small but true,
to show He cares about all things, even small ones touching you.
If you feel a longing in your heart and life seems very grim,
if you feel like someone's calling you, cheer up my friend, that's Him.
They sent Him before the highest court and charged Him with bogus crimes,
with a scourge made of nine strong cords, they lashed Him thirty-nine times.
Blood flowed from the stripes He bore yet He looked on the crowd with love,
He knew He now must suffer the cross, a mandate from God above.
They lay the cross upon His shoulders, He carried it to Golgotha's hill,
They drove the nails in His hands and feet as He honored His father's will.
If you find yourself doing wrong and feel the pangs of guilt,
make yourself an altar there no matter how it's built.
Come to Him in honest prayer repenting of your sin,
He's standing there with arms outstretched, oh yes my friend, that's Him.
They could not take His life that day no matter how they tried,
He had to lay His own life down, He spoke, and then He died.
He came to earth not to condemn but to give eternal life,
He showed us how to live in peace, mend hearts, and end all strife.
Before He took His final breath He prayed one last time,
Father forgive them they don't understand, and finished God's work sublime.
He rose again the third day and now sits on His heav'nly throne,
at the right hand of the father no sin can He condone.
The blood He shed at Calvary it covers every sin,
if we'll ask Him to forgive and cleanse our soul within,
so if you hear a still small voice bidding you come on in,
it's the Great Shepherd calling you,
lost sheep; you know that's Him.
I heard about a righteous God who's law is absolute,
His word, His law, His book of life, no man can e'er refute.
He gives all men a chance to come to the cross of Calvary,
to plea forgiveness of their sin and thus to be made free.
His holy law He gave to us ten commandments set in stone,
and by this law we all must live, no transgression will God condone.
Righteous, holy, merciful and true is God who reigns on high,
for every person on this earth God's judgment draweth nigh.
Should the trumpet's call sound now would you be ready friend?
Without repentance on your part death and hell will be your end.
Come to him in earnest prayer and turn away from sin,
for he is faithful to forgive and your new life will begin.
Do you hear him calling now? You dare not turn away!
We are not promised one more breath, much less one more day.
Run to the altar, escape the wrath of God's anger toward all sin,
could it be your last call? Come now, come now, that's Him.

More and more lately, I find myself thinking about going home. No, I could never travel far enough to get home by flying to a new destination, or getting in the car and driving somewhere else. I'm talking about my real home, Heaven. You see, this world is just a place I'm traveling through. At times it's a rough journey, but it's my journey to take. This world just isn't what God made it to be. Men are destroying this planet by the second. They kill each other with reckless abandon never thinking of the end results of their labors. Men and women destroy the lives of children for sexual pleasures of some perverted psychotic state they allow themselves to be imprisoned in by satan himself, that old serpent of the Bible, and of today.
One thing that has never changed, and never will change is God's holy, true, and inerreant word. This has been proven over and over to be true by fulfilled prophecy. I'm not speaking of vague prophecies like those of Nostradamus, but real, up to date prophecies that even point to what is happening in our world right at this very moment. God is calling everyone to the realization that He is God, He is about to return for His people, and that we had better have our spiritual lives in order or we will be left behind to suffer the tribulation period spoken of in the Bible.
It is my prayer that none of you wait until it is too late, but that everyone would come to know Jesus as their personal Saviour. Let God be Lord of your life, I promise, you won't regret it.
God loves you, and so do I. I'll be praying for you whoever you are.
