| I have writing news, stories and poems in magazines and anthologies, upcoming stories in magazines and anthologies, but why post anything? No one responds anyway. It is finally coming to a close. My time here will end. I don't think I ever really fit in here at Writing.com, or perhaps just never found my niche. I guess I am one of those people who are basically shy and try to fit but it never works. I blame no one but myself for this inability to connect. I'll keep writing, and perhaps this will be the only thing in my portfolio so I can occasionally update those who happen by to see what happened. Thanks for taking time to read through my work. | When checking my status here the other day, I noted I had closed my blog for many reasons, but I hadn't reopened it. So, I decided to do that. Don't really know why, but I did. Just call it a fickle moment of indecision. Last time I wrote in here it was in early 2011 announcing several items which were to be published. They were ... along with items in 2012 and there are upcoming stories set for release in several anthologies this year. Two major anthologies I hope will do well. Frankly, other than the few items written and either published or in the process, I haven't written much. There are times in our lives when sobering events remove all creativity from your brain and soul. My beloved nephew, Matthew, was killed in October of 2011. The light of my life. The only grandchild, the only nephew, and my sister's only child wiped off of the earth in the brutal twinkling of an eye. And as we come upon the second anniversary of his death I still wait for him to come through the door and tell us it's all been a dream instead of a nightmare. Our only solace as a small family, now back to the three women, is that Matthew knew Jesus intimately as his savior and he is at rest in the arms of God, never to know pain, suffering or loss. It is only we who remain who experience these emotions even though we rejoice Matthew is now in his permanent home. It's been a long two years filled with ups and downs, new jobs within my old job, a rekindled like of jewelry making to keep my brain in a creative attitude while thinking of stories to write. I have plenty of stories ... all without the ability to put them down on paper due to the loss of creative language. Or any language for that matter. But I'm hanging in there, waiting for the lines to drip from my pen no matter how dry the ink. For now I guess that's it. | Hello all; I have been gone for so long due to working 50 to 60 hours a week for the past seven months. Needless to say nothing other than some sleep and eating happened during that time. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to remain active on the site for quite a while. Soon I hope to change that as my schedule becomes a little less frantic. Then there was the whole recovery thing which would require a book to share. I will update soon though. I do have some great news though. In June, I submitted two poems for a Sanguis contest. This month I found out one of the poems "Unrestrained" became one out of two winners in the slots for poetry for the anthology Vicious Bites! Woo hoo! Also, my other poem "Empty Boxes of Ink" was also chosen for the anthology, however didn't win. I'm not upset though, none of my babies is a loser, perhaps misunderstood, but never a loser.  The anthology is now available through Amazon.com and anyone interested in reading great vampire stories and poems by some nice blood-thirsty writers can purchase Vicious Bites there.
