You are what you write. Illusion and Reality...I reside in between. Where are you? |
UNDERSTAND THAT REDIRECTING CIVILIZATION is a major undertaking. You can write volumes about it and who will listen? But the energy that goes for that purpose cannot be withdrawn. You know that. |
I can’t remember any books. I went to the library every week for two or three to read. I remember the Little Women series, but not the age I was. Maybe I was reading books for 12 year olds. Mostly listened to radio serial dramas. (Captain Midnight, comes to mind) I remember getting my hands on a copy of The Sinking of the Titanic. I read every issue of National Geographic from cover to cover. For movies, I wan’t allowed to see the grown-up films, but I remember The Yearling, The Bandit of Sherwood Forest, Harvey Girls, Song of the South. It also cost money, of which we had very limited funds for entertainment. Now that I look back, I am shocked at the huge number of films that were produced every year in the 40’s. I remember My Friend Flicka, Black Beauty,---Margret O'Brian, Elizabeth Taylor, who were close to my age, along with Micky Rooney. Going to the movies was a real experience, rare and much appreciated. The War was over and everything was different in 1946. I don;t think we’ve seen those days again. Someone wrote: The great enemy of any attempt to change men’s habits is inertia. Civilization is limited by inertia. >>> War is meant to forcefully change the “inertia” of civilization, and thus, forcefully change the direction of civilization in a manner that benefits the engineers of the conflict. >>>And someone else wrote: Here it is important to be aware that Islam is generally a peaceful religion and that radical militant Islamism was born in the 18th century as Wahhabism and was a joint British/Saudi creation. >>>And another person wrote: Today, pitched battles are being fought across Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Cameroon, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Ukraine and Libya - with “skirmishes” across Israel/Palestine, Lebanon and much of the breadth of Africa. (and sometimes in France) Now try to put those three ideas together... With what is happening in the world today, do you feel like someone is pushing at your inertia? So how can ordinary people know and understand which way their inertia should move? Peace and Love...>>>iggy |
