My mother's favourite artist. She gave me all her old 45s... and more than 20 of them are first release Cliff singles (worth a surprisingly large amount of money, apparently!) with a Cliff album (Summer Holiday soundtrack album). I grew up hearing Cliff. Only artist to have new-release singles chart in the top 10 in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, '00s and '10s (in the UK, but that counts; there is a world outside of Billboard, you know)! And, who knows? he's still releasing new music, and could add the '20s to that list.

*^*Flower2*^* Just to say - Thank you for your friendship over the years! *^*Flower2*^*

Isn't it strange that in your darkest moment, when you feel you are doing nothing here on WDC, and maybe in life/work, that something like this occurs, lifting your spirits.

That joke tonight was FREAKING AWESOME!!! *Rolling* *Rolling* *Rolling*
s
Despite the rumours that the band was named after an alleged witch, or came from a ouija board session, Alice Cooper was actually chosen by band members as the most innocent name they could think of, so as to juxtapose against their music!

As for the joke... I had a lecturer at university (first degree, 1990-ish)) who did something similar when grading a class-mates work, saying they had the S's back to front in a word like business or the like. Turned out we didn't pick up on the date, and it was his April Fool's joke. The poor guy happened to hand up his paper on that morning.

Funny

At one time I was doing this, and thought I'd take it up again. I love taking photos when traveling. I was in St. Johns Newfoundland last week, and have uploaded the photos (really pics because I am not a photographer) here. If you want to view and download at will, ask for access, provide an e-mail address, and I'll add you to the list. Right now, it's empty, so who will be first? Sadly, I don't think any are Trinket Worthy.

The photos were fun to see. Thank you for sharing them with me!

One of my favourite Beatles tracks...

And here is an interesting interpretation from Australia's king of pop, John Farnham (yes, the audience knows it; he released his version in 1980 and it has become part of our culture):

Well, I finally get a week at home. Since 2/11, I've been home 1.5 weeks, with a few hours here and there on some weekends. It will be nice to work from home this week, and get a few things done. Sunday I will fly to LA, return home Friday. The following Sunday I will fly to Fort Lauderdale for 2 weeks, then home. Right now I'm supposed to be in SF the week after that. We'll see. Can you say the word tired?

Tired! But not sick and tired, or tired of my job, or an exhausted tired with no hope to recover. Things could always be worse. Can you repeat, tired? There, no take the day off. It is Sunday.
You must be more than simply tired. Exhausted, depleted, sleep deprived?
Don't it make you wish that the planes come with beds, comforters, and pillows? Lol

Styx are a band that are really an acquired taste. Most critics do not like them, but they have a fervent support base. 'Mr Roboto' was one of their worst singles. I was so worried yo0u were going to have that up here. 'Babe' I can live with.
Yes it does! roflol !!

I shared this in a post in "Smile! (Groan?) You Know You Love These! about a month ago. To say I love this video would be a gross understatement. I don't just listen to it, I watch it. I just hope I don't get tired of it anytime soon.

I posted a reply in another Newsfeed entry about being in the Northwest area of LA in 2 weeks. Well, they have changed the training site location, and I will be back in downtown LA, working with LAPD again. I'm still open to meeting anyone for a cuppa or whatever. Just let me know. I will not have a car, I will use Uber to/from LAX and work.

LinnAnn -book writer - my mother use to love orange peel candy. She passed on years ago.
That is so super sweet of you, LinnAnn -book writer! THANK YOU!!! I hate to ask you to wait. You can go ahead and make some. But don't send any to me. I don't know if they'd let it in the country since it's homemade anyway. *Frown* But when I get back, if you decide to make some more, I'd love to try some! Thank you for thinking of me!!!
Schnujo is Late to Lannister - you bet. Just let me know!

If you don't remember this man in movies, you should. He portrays a wide variety of characters, and portrays them well. I have loved seeing him in several roles.

The Green Mile: Wild Bill Wharton

Cowboys And Aliens: Doc

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy: Zaphod Beeblebrox

Galaxy Quest: Guy Fleegman

Iron Man2: Justin Hammer

Who is this versatile actor? Sam Rockwell

Another actor you might be aware of is Michael Pena. Both are very versatile, and if you notice them, they will leave a remembrance in your memory.

I liked Rockwell in Moon - now there was a sci-fi movie with a touch of originality - and he was good in the TV series Fosse/Verdon a few years back. Like all good character actors, he avoids getting typecast.
I liked Sam Rockwell in Galaxy Quest. That was a fun character. *Smile*
Yes, it was cool that Sam's character finally got a name at the end of the movie. Hopefully, that offset the whole "wearing a red shirt" occupational hazard thing. I first remember seeing Michael Peña in Shooter, and also liked him in World Trade Center.
