Hell, You Don't Want To Go There!
For my blog

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Describe Hell.

Answer:
Hell is not a place you want to go. It is designed as a place for punishment for the devil and all his followers. The Bible often refers to it as a lake of fire. It is a place of eternal torment and torture.

PROMPT May 8th

Write about your favorite outdoor activities to do in the summer. Are there any activities you haven’t done that you want to try?

I love to go swimming and sliding down water slides in the summer. I would love to go to a water amusement park. I have to be careful though because I sunburn so easily.

I love to go on walks outdoors. While I am walking, I love to take pictures of nature that I see along the way. I love to appreciate the flowers, birds, trees, and other plants and things I see. I love looking up at the sky. There is so much to be thankful for and beauty to be seen.

If I had more money, I would love to go on various vacations or trip to see and experience everything possible. It can be fun experiencing new things.

There's dialogue and there's monologues. Dialogue is conversation between people whereas monologues tend to be one person speaking similar to a speech or a rant. Let's take this opportunity to discuss your name. What makes it unique? Is it a family name? Is there a story behind? Have fun, be engaging.

My name is an interesting one and fun. My mother’s paternal grandmother was named Marvilla Adaline. My Dad’s mother’s name was Mildred Ruth. My parents named me Marvilla Ruth, after 2 awesome women. I wish I knew where my great-grandmother got the name Marvilla. No one else in the family has had it. You can’t say her parents didn't know how to come up with names. She had a sister named Gertilla, and they weren't twins. 🤷‍♀️ Marvilla in Spanish (an alternate spelling, Maravilla) means marvelous. The Biblical meaning of Ruth is friend or friendship. Thus my username, Marvelous Friend, is the actual meaning of my real name. 😊

The craziness of the first few weeks of a new semester is upon me. I was warping across the galaxy today on another starship and got a distress call from Victory Seeker (9) We stopped to assist and found a poem

. Share a regret that you have.

My regret is a bad relationship I was in for 3 years too many. This was one of those relationships where if it didn't kill you, it makes you stronger. Fortunately, it didn't kill me. I became stronger and learned a lot from it the hard way. The man was emotionally and verbally abusive. I think he was too afraid to get physically abusive with me when he found out one day that I will fight back.

I loved my dad, but he had a temper and attitude. When I was a teenager, his idea of discipline was to hit me, choke me, get me on the floor and repeatedly hit me wherever he could find a good place to do so. When I got old enough to move out of my parents house as an adult, I swore to myself that no man would ever beat on me like that again, at least not without a good fight.

My dad finally stopped beating on me when I told him that as an adult, I would file criminal charges against him if I had to. I didn't want to, but I would. He believed me. Besides, as a preacher, he certainly didn't want that.

Anyway, the man decided he was going to throw a set of keys at me and hit me with them, and was surprised when I threw the keys back at him and nailed him with them and made it perfectly clear that it would not be tolerated. I told him that he may be stronger than me but I wouldn't go down without a fight. He was a bit afraid to push his luck after that.

I don't like to have to be that way or for that side of me to come out. I am afraid of that part of myself. I have had to let the monster out so to speak at times though because unfortunately not every will treat you right. My big fear is that one day I will have to let that side out and will really harm someone to defend myself or someone I love. I am usually good at restraining myself for the most part, but I have had a few close calls. I am afraid to fight not because I am afraid of getting hurt, but because I am afraid of the damage I can do if I go into a blind rage. I will not fight unless I mean it. I could be angry enough to kill. Maybe I should not have shared that on here, but that goes along with my regrets in life. This is one of my weaknesses in my flesh. May God help me to control it.

Convince us your Mom is the best Mom ever. At what point in your life, did you realize how unique your Mom is?

I can't say my mom was the best mom. She even admitted that herself. I knew she loved me and I loved her. However, we had a close but strained relationship. Unique, my mother was definitely that. I probably realized it when I was about 8 and saw her and my dad arguing. I thought at that point, I was acting more mature that she was, and she punished me for throwing fits. I honestly think she had some undiagnosed mental issues. I won’t go into detail here on that. I loved my mother though, fiercely. The relationship we had is hard to explain. I don't feel she understood me, but I understood what made her tick. I didn't always agree, but I understood why she did some of the things she did based upon her belief system and experiences she had told me about. She could be very sweet one moment and a hell-cat on wheels the next for lack of a better way to explain it. My mother was unique to herself. I don't know how else to explain it without getting too personal here.
