Just things that I think about now and then.

Hiding from God
Hiding from God...is it even possible? Isaiah 45:15 says that:

Truly You are God, who hide Yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior! While also in Isaiah: Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near (Is 55:6).

I think this means rather than the traditional "hide and seek" that it means God will reveal Himself to those who look for Him. In the same way, since we are created in the image of God, we must not try to hide from God, but to open ourselves up to Him, so that He may search us out and perfect us.

David said this much in the Psalms: Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Ps. 139:23-24.

As in the story of Jonah...he only tried to hide himself. He didn't want to do what God wanted him to do. For some reason, Jonah wanted God to destroy Nineveh. When he didn't get his way, we went away from God and pouted. Not that it did much good (oh me...not preaching but meddling *FacePalm* to myself! *Shock2*)

Anyway, that is my 2-cents worth. Hope it wasn't just "clear as mud". *Hug1**Smile**Hug2*

Written for Take Up Your Cross

Prompt:
Jonah 1:1-17

This is the story of Jonah and the whale. Everyone knows this story, my question - can we really run or hide from God? Why or why not.
