President's Day

So, John Adams was 5 feet 7 inches tall, but John Quincy Adams was 5 feet 7 and 1/2 inches tall??

Did that Q for Quincy add the extra 1/2 inch to his stature?

Now if you looked at that list of presidents, you’ll notice that the shortest ones were, with a few exceptions, those who were early in our history. They were back before modern medicines and our food abundance, emphasis on proteins and dairy and all the junk we pile in our mouths now.

I marvel at the size of women’s shoes and clothes from just the turn of the 20th century we have in our museum here in Roundup. Tiny shoes, small waist dresses compared to the clothing and shoes of today.
