once upon a midnight
once, I knew the most
important thing in the world,
something that lingered,
honeysuckle sweet on the tip
of my tongue and that colored
my world in silver and
butterflies, and that sounded
like a constant murmur
at the edge of everyday, but
before I could tell, I woke up,
and it was gone.
