Setting the Seed
This is just how far I gotten on the chapter before I began the re-write, it's a teaser now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
September 20, 2004.
The tally on my wall reads three. It is the same wall where the pictures of Mary used to reside. I lay in my bed, I'm bored out of my mind. I've had nothing to do for the past two weeks, but I'm going back to school tomorrow. My boredom will end then. The only thing I've actually done in these weeks is, well my new hobby. Today is Patrick's birthday, I'll only be bored until this afternoon.
I got him a baseball bat, but it's covered in blood. I need to wash it. Patrick does not play baseball, he doesn't even like baseball. But that's okay, this hunk of beautifully crafted wood has a bigger purpose. I'll have to wash it for now, but it will be covered in blood again, but next time it will be Patrick's blood. After his death, everything will be set right. He is the one obstacle preventing me from getting the one thing I want and need, Mary.
I turn on the radio then crank it up, there's a news program on. I enter the washroom and begin to wash off the baseball bat. The news program on the radio kicks up. "The body of a twenty-two year old male was found on King Street this morning. His head was badly beaten and a finger was missing. Police refuse to comment on whether this is connected to the other two murder victims found with a missing finger." I have finished with the bat. I re-enter my room and run through the stations on the radio. There's nothing else worth listening to, I shut off the radio.
