Poker
Yeah. So I started Poker Night with the best of intentions.

I didn't have Poker Night all through December, because I had other obligations on the nights that normally are Poker Night.

Not so this month. I reinstituted the Poker calendar with great fanfare. There were, ultimately, six of us. Me, my wife, the guys who were my groomsmen at our wedding, one of my employees, and the husband of one of my wife's belly-dancing friends.

I drank quite a bit. The key ingredient in my alcoholic pursuits was, of course, Quintessential gin. My wife foolishly provided me with all the olives I needed for the world's best martinis.

I even came out ahead in the poker game, though my friend Ken did a lot better than I did. But I don't play for bragging rights; I mostly use it as an excuse to drink. In this I was highly successful, though I think I annoyed everyone else with my ramblings and lousy singing - partly because I insisted on playing a Meat Loaf album.

Well. What can I say? Sometimes I just have to let go. Tomorrow, I'm sure I'll regret this, somehow. But for now, it was worth it.

Here's to life!
