Prologue/dedication
This book is dedicated to the kid I started writing stories with in fourth grade, Garen Monson. Though he doesn't write anymore, he was always the better author and the idea of the skyright is rightfully his.

Prologue

To understand this adventure that you're about to witness, you must first know our world. First and foremost, the earth is flat and not yet rounded. The flatness of the earth represents that it's in a peaceful and balanced state. Any type of unbalance of the planet would cause it to swell to the point of explosion. The main thing that keeps the balance in this time, so long ago, are the Seven Lighthouses that are spread throughout the land. These Lighthouses are the foundation of everything on our planet and the source of our power; Fire of Color. Fire Raiders are humans that can use this ability, all elves can use it and in some cases, giants. Each of the Seven Lighthouses represents a different Fire of Color.

First, you have Black Fire. This is the Healing Fire, though it is extremely painful. It will reattach the muscles and snap the bones back into place. Next, there's Green Fire. This is the Fire of Sight and it allows the user to see upcoming events. Most Green Fire Raiders lose their wits because what they see is so far into the future that they no longer know what reality is and what is not. There are very few that have made it long enough to control this ability. Then, we have Purple Fire. Oh, what I could do with this. It is the Fire of Illusions. This Fire can alter the way one's mind works; make you see things that aren't there and hear noises that were never made. They can remove bits of your memory or add false memories. Make your right, your left and vice versa or make up as down and down as up. Now that's a Fire full of uses. Now, there's Bronze Fire, another useful one, but not as exciting. The wielders of this Fire are known as Flight Raiders. As the name may suggest, they have the ability of flight, but not only that, they can cause flight of others as well. Almost done, just three left. So, we'll move onto Gold Fire. Kind of boring if you ask me. They're known as the Gold of Hearts because every Gold Fire Raider is pure of heart; they're usually one with wildlife as well. They have the ability of making jewels, precious metals, and silk. See, boring. Next, will be my Fire. This is the most powerful of them all because we can use any of the other abilities. We're known as the Fire Readers. This is Rainbow Fire, and we're called this for two reasons, one I already gave you. The second is because we can read the minds of others. Finally, there's the Fire of Mystery, Silver Fire. It's even a mystery to me, but I've heard stories. Stories of delusions in time and space. Even stories of these Fire Raiders being able to have control over other dimensions. Only stories, though, right?

The Seven Lighthouses are what keep our powers from growing out of control. The Sacred Tablets are what's used to light them, but if this were to happen, our world would end as we know it. These Tablets are held in the peaceful village of Kio, a place I once called my home before any of these events occurred. This is also where our story begins. My name is Cody, and this is a story I've been telling my whole life since it happened and I am one of the few surviving Heroes of the War of the Lighthouses...
