Spirit of the World
I look to my left
I look to my right
Where, I ask myself,
can I find God’s Spirit.
We have been spoiled.
We have been deceived.
The wisdom of man
is what we seek.
The more wise we become
the further we fall.
He is all knowing;
He is all powerful.
Why do we seek within ourselves
When He is always there?
The spirit of the world is here,
in my face, everywhere.
How do I defeat it?
How do I delete it
from my life and
follow the Spirit of God?

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

1 Cor 3:18-20 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

1 Cor 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
