You think big brother isn't watching?
Don't look now...
she already is.
The headlights make contact
with my heavy eyelids
while the radio blares static through silence.
I'm compelled to bother someone
with my mathematical concerns,
using peril as my enemy
         and don't worry;
what my therapist says won't hurt you.
It's called a science, but it doesn't listen.
I prefer to find the truth in others' fictions.
Beat deception. Four-letter texts.
Love. Hate. Once. Next.
Anger validation. Needy euphemisms.
Stress relief. Awkward comparisons.
Words so normal yet they still make you blush.
This town's 20 minutes from nowhere
         all around
with time to kill and hunger for
         technological bloodlust.
