deep water fantasy
Your emails bring smiles and tug at heartstrings
Your cheery words bring out the best in me,
You make me want at once to dance and sing!
Each song I hear as though for the first time
Thoughts of you deeply touch this heart of mine.

I fantasize an entire future for us
Then erase it, and fantasize again.
I visualize us connecting, meeting
Afraid of what I’ll glimpse on your face -
You try to cover your feelings – once again I erase.

If we kiss will it be the magical kind
That stays with you forever – it was once.
You once occupied my heart, now you occupy my mind.
You invade my dreams and I think that you
Are here – I am such a lover’s fool!

I swim in weedy vulnerable waters, not the deep or cold
Tossed happily by currents; must be a sight to behold!
Dodging between the weeds trying to avoid
Your baited hook but growing ever hungry
With each peek and poke into my nook.

So if you decide to fish and when you catch - (you will)
In what waters do I swim to stay alive until
You decide to keep or release your limit?
And of the fish you choose to keep, I wonder
If one might have my heart in it?
