Be Merry at Christmas
Children throw their snowballs round.
Cardinals at play.
Eating snowflakes all abound,
tomorrow and today.

Christmas trees with festive lights.
Baked goods every hour.
Joyful car rides all the nights.
Smiles replace the dour.

Carolers sing to lift the dark.
Choo-choos round the tree.
Doggies chase them and they bark,
"You're not approved by me!"

Eggnog causes Grandpa's nap
amid the sights and sounds.
Papa sips his chocolate frappe
as pecan pie he downs.

Charlie Brown is shamed, again,
until he saves the day
with Linus, his lone constant friend,
or awful his dismay.

With the Joneses, I can ne'er keep up,
but the airport is quite pleased.
The runway has a fair backup
as the power bill is eased.

This year the holidays have forces joined.
We're thankful and o'er-joyed.
With parties masked, 'tis quite purloined
from the night when the holiday is void.

The safest way to see the town
is in a hamster ball.
We visit houses, knocking down
the decorations all.
