Grey cells, enigma, glad not sad, Maze or nature, mysterious
1-12-2021 Prompt: Mystery or Gate

Grey cells

Writing a murder mystery
seems so simple
using the ingredients:
victim, murder and detective.
I should keep the plot
close to life and details
should be convincing.
“are your little grey cells ready?”(asks Poirot)

1-13-2021 Prompt : Images : Purple Island or diamond eye.

Enigma

The islands off the coast of
the Bay of Bengal have a
lure extraordinaire, casting
a spell on those coming within
purview beneath a lavender sky.
Their purple beauty draws them in.
People wonder at the empty launches
adrift in the rising tide, an enigma till date.

1-14-2021 Prompt: Images of Garden Maze and Trifle.

Maze or woods?

Beyond the garden maze
beckon the woods, meadows
charming, natural, a soothing view.
Pathways, dead ends and tall hedges
the maze puzzles, confuses.
The woods thrive naturally
offer a chance to look at nature, discover God,
challenges "your passion for dead leaves".(Jane Austen)

1-15-2021 Prompt words: Daydream or Distance.

Dreaming

Losing myself in daydreams
my sight on the distant goals.
Soon I return to the hard present
where dreams dissolve and goals
turn to beautiful illusions, wishful
imaginary creations of ephemeral
joys, never ending delights of times
of the past, present and future.

1-16-2021 Prompt: Choose one or two words from three poems.

Glad not sad.

It wasn't exactly a dismal day
Things went in an amusing way.
We were on the beach after long
The masks muffled our merry song.

Not a lonely land anymore
people won the Corona score
life seems to have returned
to normal; brighter, the sun turned.

These mystic musings captivate
where opposites mix and activate
to inspire thoughts to rise, go beyond
the ordinary, the familiar, jaded surrounds.

1-19-2021 Prompt words: Humble or Stumble

Humble

In the verdant valley
the humble dwelling
with tall trees and shady coolness,
honey colored fields and a fragrant wind
summoned a picture of paradise.
Nature reposed listening to the gentle
hermit instilling a sense of simplicity
in his disciples, today's youth.

1-20-2021 Prompt: Picture of a wavy hallway

Mysterious

I step out of the elevator
Lo! face to face with a
magical, mesmerizing
view of an optical illusion.
The path twists, the walls enclose.
Ringing in a sense of
wonder; “am I going
on a mysterious journey?”
