Better Than I Expected

Thirteen single paragraphs for the fourth episode of my Water Wars scriptwriting project are very good. At least I think that it is. Especially, since it happened on a Friday. A very busy Friday at work. True, it wasn’t as busy as it has been lately. But it was still very busy.

At first, I didn’t even think that I was going to get more than eight of them written. That’s how slow I was in writing them. After all, it took me about six hours to write them. I didn’t think that I would get more than two or three more written if I was lucky. But those last two hours went a lot better than I thought that it would.

Why did it take me so long to write that many single scene paragraphs? It was because of what happened before I went to work yesterday. No, it wasn’t another road closure. I wish it was. It was because when I woke up this morning, we found out that our cable was out. And the only way to get it back on was to pay a back-due amount that we had already made an agreement to pay.

I was very mad when I got to work. So mad that I thought I wouldn’t feel like doing any writing again. And I did think about that. But I was determined that it wasn’t going to happen again. Especially, on a couple of days later. So, I kind of forced myself to write yesterday at work. The lack of interest may have been a big factor in how long it took me to do the first eight paragraphs for this project. But I still think that my cable was the main reason.

It’s true, I probably could have written a couple of more paragraphs to make it an even fifteen again. But I decided not to do that for a couple of reasons. One is that those paragraphs would have been the Establishing Shots for Act Three of this episode. That’s also the second reason. The thirteen ended Act Two. And I decided that it would be best if I started Act Three today.
