A poem a day each April, for Katya the Poet's Dew Drop Inn
#1008608 added April 16, 2021 at 7:11am
Restrictions: None
All the Care
From which point does a life become a jail
with bars made up of mother, father, son?
When circumstance has set you up to fail;
when Covid hits, and you're the only one

to call, to love, to grocery shop, to clean
to listen with attentive heart and ears
to force a smile (remarks are always mean)
persisting when your vigor disappears...

To watch in horror while your child attacks
beyond what's safe for home, or school, or park.
To ache in pain...your very spirit cracks,
to tell your story - blog, however dark.

Not rhyme nor reason - nothing's right or fair
When you're the one who carries all the care.
