Trapped

I wonder where I should go
backward or forward, stay put
or venture into an unknown future.
How long am I to stay trapped
in this alluring prison of uncertainty?
This trap of being in the midst of
virtual and augmented reality has
me completely floored, spellbound.


3-22-2021 Prompt: duck or seeking
Seeking

Everyday I seek for the beauty
Embedded in Mother Nature,
Not only for "books in running brooks”,
Speech in trees, or "sermons in stones", I also long
To hug the shining emerald green of the mountains,
The glorious pearly gleam in the dawn skies,
Amazing aquamarine in the effervescent sea
Priceless gems of people moving around me.

The tool box

If the fence needs repair
or the kitchen sink jams
get the wrench and a pretty
pair of pliers to loosen wire,
a sturdy hammer to fix a nail.

Oh, the fuse blew, somebody
get the gloves and a piece of wire

Delight

the buyers drawing them under white canopies.
to quench thirst, enjoy the cool fruity delights.

scene in a forest
in walks the Duke,
lamenting his misfortunes(slow, soft music)

For the love of earth

My former neighbors
sold their land for lots of money.
Now they grieve, packed away
in matchbox-like flats.

Hardly possible to meet and greet.

I bother little for their created hell

The downtown diner tucked away in small town
America has delicious Service served in home style.
The Darjeeling tea and the curry masala of India
In the backdrop of hill ranges and serene streams.

She paused on the porch
uncertain of her welcome
home by her parents.
The door opened, mum's
eyes teared and revealed
a certain pleasure at her
girl's unexpected return.
Time stands still warm with love.

The tree-house by the towering oak
a labor of love by the kids' dad.

the oak stood the test of time
the tree house weathered rain
sun and storm, the builder's gone.

Tom and Angela visit on occasion
childhood memories flash fresh, alive

Delusional I am not. Yet,
I hold fast to my own Unicorn.
Living in lands of wonder
dreamscapes, dark or bright
my pleasure, my second nature.

The storm

I will stay the night
in this warm cabin.
Foolish to venture
out in this storm.

But, how can I stay
through the storm
raging in my soul
with no way out?

In we walked with our fingers

A single diamond glittered in grandeur
on her delicate finger, encircled by pretty
pearls set in heart-shape, nails sheathed
in pearly pink polish while her eyes like
twin sapphires spoke of silent sorrow.
The corporate house she will walk into,
has hearts of diamond hardness
never to melt at others' suffering.

His body relaxed
A calm yogic pose
proclaims absence
of fear, the presence
of blissfulness in detachment.
The magnificent jade Buddha, the most
sought-after in the bustling modernity of Shanghai.

Cool Moon

The sickle-shaped cool moon
beckons her to climb into curve,
a rare lass eats books for dinner
writes of love of long ago for fun.
Chilled champagne hung ready
to welcome the like-minded atop
to party with the moon maiden
to rock with the old giving in to the young.

Finding balance nourishing
