in all those who come to cheer it
with flags flying, bands playing, and soldiers marching,
backyard barbecues followed by flashy fireworks display arching
through the night sky to conclude the celebration
expressing gratitude for those who protect our nation.

Many of us give thanks all year long
in effort to keep our troops' morale strong.
