Not a Good Start for My Scripts
Not a Good Start for My Scripts

Unfortunately, it’s true. I didn’t get too much written on the first part of my movie script for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. all I got was the logline for my title page that may or may not be removed depending on the contest, agent, etc. that I will be sending it to, the first two Establishing Shorts for my Teaser Act, and my first scene.

That’s right, I’m writing the movie up as a two-part television episode with two separate titles for a couple of reasons. One is that this may end up being a movie pilot for this series. And the second one is that when it goes into syndication and reruns it will end up being broken up into a two-parter anyway. This two-parter can also be converted to a motion picture for the Big Screen very easily. All I will need to do is take away all the Teaser Acts, the Tag Acts, and the Number Acts.

It may read like I didn’t get a lot of writing done yesterday at work. And in a lot of ways, I didn’t. but I did. After all, it just looks that way because I have been doing single paragraphs mostly so far. Writing a script is a whole lot different. There is a format that you need to use. But how you use them is what makes it different.

Another reason why I didn’t get more writing done was the two Establishing Shots at the beginning of this Teaser Act. I knew what I wanted to write in these. Just not sure how to do it. End the end I just almost copied the Scene Outline with a little bit added to them. Once I started writing the first scene, it started getting a lot better. Except for maybe keeping it within fifteen lines.

Work was another reason why I didn’t get as much writing as I wanted to get done yesterday. Not only was it very busy, but I had to write up another Incident Report again. Both work and the IR slowed me down a little. But it wasn’t that bad. Most of the blame goes to what I just wrote above.

Today, I’m starting to work on Scene Two. And now that I am getting into the storyline itself, I think that I will be able to get a lot more writing done. At least I hope that I do. I would like to get three or four or more scenes written today. And I think I may be able to do that. But I’m not going to count on anything until I get it done.
