Keeping Pace

This life is running faster ev'ry day.
It seems, that keeping pace is a hopeless task.
For more and more we need comply, obey,
before we have a day to simply bask.

Who runs our lives to make us faster run?
Who dictates where we live, and eat, and play?
Who chooses all our hopes under the sun?
Who tells us how we view the sun each day?

How foolish when we humans think we reign!
How could we spin the Earth, and chase the sun?
Is there Someone, Whose Coming makes all plain?
Can any challenge He, Who stands as won?

The keeping pace we always need to do
is walking with The One, Whose Word is True.
