Ekphrastic: "Up They Fly"

Up they fly beyond the blue
as red, and stretched, and full of flames.
Up they fly in colors, all,
while we are here.

Up they fly on wings of wind
never guided by selfish means.
Up they fly, unseen the hands,
that lead to parts unknown.

Up they fly, the feet earthbound
have hearts made light by bliss.
Up they fly, ecstatic faces
hidden from viewing eyes.

Up they fly beyond the blue,
refreshed by silent vistas seen.
Up they fly, floaters and standers,
immortalized in verse.
