Ninety Percent or More

This means war. And I’m not writing about my Water Wars scriptwriting project. What I mean by war is where I work and who I work for. The reason why I didn’t get any writing done on this project yesterday at work is because of them. And it all started even before I got to work yesterday. But I didn’t know about it until I got there.

My car went into the shop yesterday because of a Stabilizing Trax issue. And I wanted to take some time off of work with pay because of it. But I was told that I couldn’t with or without pay because of what time of year it was and that they were short-staffed anyway.

On Monday I could have worked some OverTime because someone called in. And big surprise, they got it with pay. Yesterday it happened again. I don’t know about the with pay part. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they did. And I didn’t know about it until I got to work. That was just the beginning of what happened to me yesterday at work.

At first, I was supposed to work at what I call the main gate the first four hours of my shift. But then my Shift Supervisor changed that to my old post because he hates me. And that post was more than extremely busy yesterday. For the first three hours, I was on my feet at least ninety percent of the time. I think it was more like ninety-five to ninety-nine percent.

After what happened just before that third hour ended made me so mad that I only sat there and did a very little as I could. I still did my job. But I took even more time doing it. What happened? While I was doing my job on one side outside my guard post, someone on the other side of it got very vocal. Not only did they use cursing, but they threatened me while doing it by the way that they were saying it.

About a half-hour, before I left for my regular post, my replacement showed up. Only he wasn’t just my replacement, though. He was also the third Shift Supervisor. And I know why he was there. It was because the threatener complained that I didn’t take care of him first.

When I got over to my regular post, I didn’t feel like doing any writing. I know that I should have tried to do some writing. But I was afraid that what little I did write I would have to re-write it again today. As a result, I didn’t get any writing done yesterday at work. Hopefully, it’s not going to be the same today.
