For Several Reasons
For Several Reasons

I have done it again. What have I done? It’s what I have done a million times before. I changed my mind about how I was going to write my Scene Outlines for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. yes, I know that I wrote not too long ago that I was going to give up on this project if I changed my mind again. And I have started working on my second project. At least the spreadsheet part of it. But that’s what got me thinking about this one.

There are a lot of duplicating scene numbers in my second project. In fact, both my movie and my television movie and series centers around one individual. They won’t be in every scene. But they will be in the same ones in each Act of them. Especially, the four main Acts or the eight for the movie. They will also be the same in the Teaser Acts and Tag Acts too. But they are slightly different than the four or eight Acts. Still the same scene numbers, though.

Also noticed something else in the last few days. My first movie, The Problems with Death, is also like my second project. The only difference is the Teaser Act and Tag Acts. Dinill and Marri don’t have any scenes in them. They don’t come in until the beginning of Act One. Originally, I planned on going back to my forty-five-minute format. A few duplicate scene numbers weren’t that big of a deal. They still aren’t. But I liked the version without them better.

Why did I go back to the old format? it’s because I also noticed that most of the television shows are using that amount of time per episode. At least most of them are using it. Including cable and streaming services. Some are a little bit less than that amount. But very few are above it. If there are any above it. That isn’t the only reason why I’m going back to that timeframe, though. It’s just the main reason why I’m doing it.

Another reason is that I’m still aiming for a major network like ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. The reason for that is the number of episodes per year. With cable and streaming services, I will only get about ten to the weird number of thirteen done. If it’s even that many. But with a major network, I may still be able to get twenty of them each year. Today, I’m going to start working on my Scene Outlines. Before I do that, I need to update my Character Act Breakdowns.
