We're all kinds of ugly
and deserve love.
I see your loneliness
like mine waiting
for eternal sunshine.

We're two birds
with ruffled feathers,
similar but alike.
We are fowl
and a stream rushes
so fast between us.

We seek the sun
when it's safe to play.
Awkward and silent,
hide where we roll and yip
in the fresh grass.
