Time Change
Sleepy faces sit and stare.
New the time, but where? O, where?
Sun still shines the same right there,
but our clocks are changed.

It's like we're living further east,
but moving homes have not increased,
efficient thinking has decreased,
until we get some rest.

Two weeks, it seems, the body takes,
until the daily rhythm makes
its newest sleep-time, then it wakes,
refreshed to "sieze the day."

We see the days, so clear and bright,
a-lengthening to shorten night,
our bedtime is now slightly tight
as we seek respite best.

How hot the days as summer comes
with work to do, and tilled the sums,
march we more, and beat the drums,
now waiting for the cold.
