Sleep
At dawn
gale winds recede
but I'm long past the gone
astride a fight. High tide, mid-wave.
Withdrawn.

Midday
back at some shore
skies regurgitate grey.
I build palaces in puddles
and pray.

The night
makes promises
of mother-sails in flight
warmed under loving moons. Lying.
Contrite.
