There is a lot within me Other Than Scriptwriting. This blog is devoted to those stories.

Finally, Finally, Finally
Finally, Finally, Finally

It may not be very good. And it may not conform to the current prompt for this contest challenge. But it is finally finished. Personally, I think that it’s one of the best short stories that I have written in quite a while. I’m not the one reading or judging it, though. They may have their own opinion. And it may be different than mine.

That’s okay with me. I don’t mind criticism. In fact, I like it a lot. It helps me improve my writing with each criticism that I get. I like being reviewed. Not just with my short stories, but anything that I do in WDC. Like I just wrote, it helps me with my writing. I know that I’m not a very good writer. Especially, with my tenses. But I’m getting better at it. At least I think that I am.

I know that I still have a lot to learn with my short stories, poems, etc. But not when it comes to my scriptwriting. I’m not an expert when it comes to scriptwriting. Not by a long shot. I have never gone to scriptwriting school. Learned what I have through a lot of trial and error, mostly error. And a lot of reading and research. Reading scripts and researching the proper way to write them.

Except for Word Count Limitation, Line Limitations, etc., short stories, poems, etc. are freehand writing. At least that is what I call it. I still plan them. But when it comes to writing, it’s freehand. The number of sections or parts in a Short Story can be outlined. So, can what you put into them. But the individual paragraphs can be of different lengths. Some only a line or two. Those usually contain dialog to me. And some can be five or six lines.

Scripts are a lot like short stories, novels, and novellas. The only real difference is how they are written. Short stories, novels, and novellas are more freehand than scripts are. That’s what I think. But I’m not a very good judge about that. Maybe that’s why my two contests failed. I know that I need more learning. Especially, about short stories, poems, etc. But that’s one of the reasons why I’m here.

I got extremely sidetracked with this blog entry, didn’t I. This is supposed to be about my finishing the second Short Story for this month. And what I’m going to do about it now. Unfortunately, finishing it is all that I have done today. This is the day in my new work schedule that is the hardest for me with my writing.

I only have about three hours between coming home from work, getting some sleep, and returning to work. And during those three hours, I have a lot to do. As a result, updating my writing suffers. Creating it and posting it will have to wait until tomorrow after I get home from work. Maybe even tomorrow evening or Monday before I can do it.
