Two Short Stories Plus

Yesterday was Labor Day here in the United States. What does that mean for me and my writing? It means that I worked yesterday. As a result, I didn’t work on anything other than my scriptwriting. Normally, I would have devoted my writing to short stories, etc. But because I worked I didn’t. I worked on my scriptwriting yesterday at work when I should have been working on my short stories for this month.

Today should have been my second day off from work. But because yesterday was a holiday, today is my first day off. What does that mean? It means that I have been working on the two short stories that I’m going to be doing this month. Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten too far on them. I know what I want to write. And I have thought a lot about them. But I haven’t gotten too much more than that written physically.

These two short stories aren’t the only thing that I’m going to be doing starting this month besides my scriptwriting. Thus the ‘plus’ in this blog title for today. It may even affect my scriptwriting for the next couple of months. But it shouldn’t affect any short stories that I may be doing in October and November. What am I writing about now? I’m writing about the NaNoWriMo challenge next month.

I have been thinking about trying this challenge for the last few years. But I haven’t participated in it for several years. And I have decided to try to do it again. That’s why I wrote what I did in my last paragraph. I’m going to try it again. It shouldn’t affect me writing one or two short stories other than the ones for the challenge. But it will probably be for my scriptwriting.

Will probably be giving up on my scriptwriting for the next two months. But I could use a little break from them anyway. I have already done it lately with my second scriptwriting project instead of my first one. Now I will be doing both of them. I’m still going to continue on them. But not for the next two months. After November I will decide whether I’m going to go back to them or to continue with this novel.

If I remember correctly, I didn’t finish the November challenge. Of course, I was trying to write two novels back them. One Science Faction and the other one is not a Science Faction. This time it’s just a Science Faction. So, hopefully, I will be able to finish this challenge this year. If that’s true, I will continue with this Novel in December. But I’m not going to count on that until it happens.

More than likely, I will be returning to my scriptwriting. I hope that I can finish this November challenge this year. Not because it will take me away from my scriptwriting. I’m going back to it no matter what. It may just take a little bit more time to do it. But because I don’t like to lose challenges. I know I won’t win them. Because I never do. But I still want to finish them. So far, I haven’t done that.
