Song in Stillness
Song in Stillness

Poems thrive within a still mind,
the sting of slurs bespoke unkind,
compassion's soft touch, threads that bind,
the treacherous trek, the slippery slide,
all in silence, no place to hide.

The trick to share these muted finds,
cacophony of concrete grinds
in harmony, become the guide.
A poem thrives.

It's no matter when eyes are blind.
Inside, the clarity designed
will surface and flow with the tide
outing shape and color, wide-eyed.
The poet's soul, unleashed, defined.
A poem thrives.
