Just things that I think about now and then.

Morning Reflections
I see the ravages of time
marked upon my body
Carelessness and excess
have taken their toll

Trying to keep up
is better than catching up
I know this now and
catching up seems impossible

One step in front of the other
patiently, but not really
moving forward
the alternative is not desired

Keeping the faith
Walking the walk
Talking the talk
Writing the encouragement
This gets me through

Woke up in a contemplative mood this morning. First, my nephrostomy bag is leaking, and they want me to "duct tape" or "southern engineer" it *Mindblown*. Putting Gold Bond Diabetic Cream on my arms, which are leathery looking due to the diabetes in my body. That is where I got the first three verses of this poem.

But I have to have faith in God; else I would sink into despair. There are days that I just will to get through, hoping for a better tomorrow. I know that there IS a better tomorrow, I just want it now...*FacePalm*

So I go on, take my meds; wash up and put a smile on my face. Let the lotion soak into my skin. Count my blessings, as I am safe, have a roof over my head, food for my belly, kids that love me (in spite of it all) and more poetry to write.

I did win Writer's cramp for a spooky short story the other day - can't be all bad, right?

2 Corinthians 5:7 (Amplified Bible)

for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]—
