I remember

Memories come flooding
of a well-spent childhood.

How can I forget
those sunny summers,
the shiny sea and the silky sand,
castles on the beach melting on the white shore.

Can someone return
my days of pure fun?

Prompt: Write a poem about a childhood memory that still brings you joy to think of.

Sweet ‘n Shallow

Shallow waters
rippling on pebbles
show handsome hues.

Shining sun
on charming water lilies
that wake up on heart-shaped leaves.

In the whispering brook
my feet feel the sun, the soil and the water.

Prompt: Write a shallow poem.

Return

The giant foot print,
a proof of the return
of the prehistoric man
and his ilk inhabiting

the caves all over earth
promising to end an era
going down history
as one of the most corrupt.
Prompt: Giant foot print- Photo

Light on life

I can’t wait for the sun
to dawn in the east.

My eager heart
defeats his speed of light

views his changing shades,
each colour more glorious
than the other.

Sunny brightness all over our lives.

Prompts: the speed of light/ I can’t wait

Immortal

In the invisible world
beyond the sky
wonders unfold.
We, the weak, can’t even try

to enter the ethereal space,
go to the kingdom
of immortal grace
till the hour of freedom.

Prompt: The Wonders Of The Invisible World by David Gates.

Visual wonder

The divine river
Ganga, runs a marathon race
from the kingdom of Heaven.
Comes running, skipping,
leaping, vaulting, bolting
spring, crash, finally
to settle, spread, enliven,
and enrich the subcontinent.

Prompt: World Rivers Day

Realizing Needs

By looking at the dark
we are missing the mark.
No, don’t ever believe in grief,
there are better ways for relief.

If I need to have health and security
I know I must find positive activity.
The results, I guess are amazing
sail along, with time enough for stargazing.

Prompt: Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs

Over coffee

The cafe5 on the highway
a favourite hub for truckers
sipping coffee airing opinions.

Jack was validly vociferous.
“Balderdash! We can’t vote
for a corrupt candidate.”

“An honest leader? Fiddlesticks!
Much easier to find a flower in the Sahara.”

Prompt: fiddlesticks.

A rare find

The clearance sale
absolutely irresistible.

Things unwanted
someone else loved.

That loveseat!
Its design, the right treat.

Gave us a new dream
awash in the loving light of a moonbeam.

Prompt: Clearance

The community

I am a loner no doubt
feeling alone? out of question.

Something is always afoot
A party, a funeral or a birthday

People reach out
to talk, to give or to take.

I mix with them, owe them
for keeping my sense intact, my sensibility alive.

Prompt: Alone (Picture)

Bewildered was I
by the wall that shot up
This too happens
sometime in the night.

Illegal barricade
unforgivable by the gate
a contractor trespassed.

A note to the government
demolished to my relief abundant.

Prompt: Barricade/ Bewildered.
