365 Days of Blessing _ January 9, 2023

Dear God,

You remind me how critical it is to lift up Wisdom as the most beautiful of living beings; so beautiful, gentle, kind, loving and devoted as the most gracious of precious sisters.

Insight too must be revered. The two loving guardians of the human soul must be highly esteemed. There is a wayward wife on the path away from Your truth and righteousness. She is known as the the adulteress; but is too alluring, too tempting to ignore. In the Hebrew she is "Zorah." She is not just a “forbidden woman,” she is a beautiful princess, with power, wealth, authority and her favor must never be awarded the common man.

Yet she calls to the simple, dullard, careless simple boy; its just a moment in a fleeting kiss, embrace and adoring looks that the axe is poised to end one's life. The simple goes the way of all the stupid who choose earthly pleasures over God's precepts and instruction.

PROVERBS 7:4-5 and 26-27

Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call insight your intimate friend,

to keep you from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words.

For many a victim has she laid low, and all her slain are a mighty throng.

Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.

Dear God, help me to make Wisdom my sister and insight my intimate friend. Thank You.
