my pioneering veteran

Angela Lee
Is my favorite vet.

She answered the call
To duty in 1988
After finishing ROTC training
At the University of Washington,

She had decided to become
An army officer
When she taught officers
Korean in Korean
Before immigrating
To the United States.

She served with honor
And distinction
20 years as a military
intelligence major.


She was a pioneer
The first Korean-born female
To serve in the U.S. Army
As an officer
And be stationed in South Korea.

She will always be my major
The major of my heart
The captain of my soul
The veteran of my love.
